How did you get started with Etsy?

 

We were selling on Ebay and a client referred us to Etsy.

 

 

When did you get interested in making your Art/Craft?

 

 



 In 1997, I was working in a machine shop and made a titanium ring out of a key chain. My friends saw it and started ordering them. I asked my boss if I could stay late and use the machine and eventually made enough money to buy a machine of my own.

 

 

Where does your inspiration come from?

 

Nature and the Hawaiian Island scenery

 

 

Who taught you or how did you learn your art form?

 

 I was self taught and have pioneered the embedded titanium ring industry.

 

 

 

Where do you see your Shop in 5 years from now?

 

I plan on continuing to expand and pioneer new avenues in the titanium ring industry. I am on the verge of launching a new business that may be revolutionary.

 

 

How do you manage your time between Etsy and the rest of your life?

 

I have an amazing wife and a team of family and friends that work with me; they help juggle my schedule and make executing my ambitions possible.

 

 

How did you come up with the name of your shop?

 

We are located on the Big Island of Hawaii and inspired by its culture and scenery.

 

 

 

Do you make or stock items you love, or what will sell?

 

We have two Hawaii Titanium Rings galleries here on the Big Island and several galleries that carry our rings on the mainland. We specialize in custom rings made to order so our stock is mainly for examples.

The corporate competition has taken our creations and mass-produced them by out-sourcing which has hurt our growth. We have survived because we keep improving every day with new techniques and designs that set our quality high above the imitations.

Hawaiian Titanium Rings has been pioneering the titanium ring industry since the beginning in the mid 1990's. A small family ran company specializing in high craftsmanship and great customer service. As titanium bands grew in popularity so did the competition. Many of our styles were immediately duplicated. As we continued to cater to our customers we thought of ways to change the look of the now common titanium ring. Living in Hawaii the idea of inlaying local exotic hardwoods came about, and after many years of research the new look was created. Maintaining the durability of the titanium ring while inlaying the hard to find rare exotic hard woods from around the world. once we figured out the techniques needed to protect the wood, the new designs were endless. Now taking the most durable wedding band available and adding the natural art of Mother Nature we brought to you the Exotic Hardwood Series and our Tribal Series. The new look was a Big Hit! As people raved about Mother Nature's beauty in the different grain patterns and coloration of our hardwoods, we continued to look for more natural art our earth had to offer. We have now found ways to bring you to the many variety of precious stone and minerals. Taking the deep blues of Lapis and adding the bright green of Malachite we began to see that mixing our imagination with Mother Nature's beauty would soon change the way people look at the Titanium Ring. And now 15 years later Hawaiian Titanium Rings continues to hand make each band custom to your order while giving you hundreds of styles to choose from, with thousands of possibilities.
