Olivia Hook
Her Etsy Shop:
MendingLifeTogether
Get settled people! Here we go!!
What do you sell?
Baby and Toddler items, along with purses/diaper bags for mom
How did you get started with Etsy?
When I was thirteen and making items here and there for family and friends, I wanted more people to find my things. That's when my dad found Etsy.
When did you get interested in making your Art/Craft?
When I started sewing lessons when I was about 12 or 13. I started making things for myself and then I started making things for my cousins.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from bright, colorful and playful items. Also what's new and trending for kids. My inspiration also comes from the little girl/child inside of me.
Who taught you or how did you learn your art form?
My sewing teacher at a local fabric store, my mom also helps me when there's patterns that are hard to understand.
Where do you see your Shop in 5 years from now?
I hope to see my store growing and improving and meeting new people/customers along the way. I hope that my store could be a part-time job, considering in 5 years I most likely will be in College. I would love for my store in 5 years to be online and have it's very own store, but for it to be big online is my main goal.
How do you manage your time between Etsy and the rest of your life?
I feel like my life revolves around Etsy. I will spend time during school planning items to make, things to do, and how I'm planning on promoting items.
Is this a hobby, part-time job, or full-time job?
My store first started off as a hobby now it's becoming more of a job and I hope for it to become part-time job in the near future.
Do you make or stock items you love, or what will sell?
I stock items that I love and that will sell. My two biggest selling items are Critter Blankets and Crayon Rolls.

such pretty items, and they look so well made too. I would love to know how she came up with the name to her shop. Sounds like there is a story there.

I will have to ask her to reply to your question!!
DeleteGreat shop. What an inspiration
ReplyDelete@Debbi, I came up with my name while I was at an adoption party for my moms friend. I remembered a saying my grandma used for fixing jeans and it was Mending. I didn't want to put my name in the shop and, I also didn't want to say sewn item, kids, toddler, or babies in the title. In case I wanted to expand the store. So I thought of other words for mending which were fixing, together. So I wanted Mending, and Together in it. Then the word Life just popped up. That's how I came up with my name. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
